FAQs

CBD (CANNABIDIOL)

What is CBD?
CBD or cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the Cannabis plant. It's a naturally occurring substance that's used in products like oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm.

Is CBD Legal?
Yes CBD is Legal. Under Federal Law, the Farm Bill signed in 2018 made CBD from Hemp legal. Each state does have its own law regarding the legality of CBD and therefore the legality of CBD can vary from state to state. In South Carolina, it is legal to sell CBD products as long as they do not carry more than the legal amount of .3% of THC.

Do I need a prescription to purchase CBD products?
Nope!

Is CBD addictive?
No, it is not addictive nor is it psychoactive.

How do I know how much CBD to take?
CBD dosage is different for everyone. It is recommended to start low and go slow. For Oil, start with a half of a dropper morning and night. After 2-3 days, go up or down depending on how your body feels. Everyone metabolizes CBD differently, so it is a trial and see process. Always feel free to contact us if you have questions regarding dosing.

How can I take CBD for sleep but yet not be sleepy during the day?
The way CBD helps you fall asleep is by clearing your mind. Many of us cannot sleep because we are thinking of 100 different things thus unable to sleep. CBD has the ability to clear your mind which allows you to relax and fall asleep. It DOES NOT feel like a sleeping pill, pain pill or benedryl. CBD can also help focus during the day. Many people that have ADD or ADHD, may also benefit from CBD for it’s focusing properties.

What is the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?
Hemp and Marijuana are different plants from the same Cannabis species- CBD products sold in our store are produced from the Hemp plant.

Do CBD products contain THC?
Some of our products are full spectrum which means it may contain a trace amount of THC below the 0.3% legal limit (as set in the 2018 Farm Bill). Even so, these products will not ilicit the "high" feeling that is typically felt from smoking marijuana. Alternatively, we also have broad spectrum products which do not contain any THC.

What are Terpenes in CBD products?
Terpenes give CBD its distinctive aromatic and flavor compounds found in plants. They also have a host of therapeutic effects. Cannabis terpenes like linalool (also present in lavender) and pinene have been used to promote sleep and fight inflammation. Terpenes are made in the trichomes of the plant, which makes them natural. They can also be found in essential oils.

Can I fail a drug test taking CBD products?
Possibly. When using full spectrum CBD products (which contain a trace amount of delta 9-tetrahydroccanabinoil THC 0.3%) there is a chance of testing positive. However, we carry many Broad Spectrum products that do not contain THC, and therefore will not show up when drug tested.

How can CBD help me?
Many studies have shown that CBD may help with pain, arthritis, anxiety, insomnia, stress and depression, focus, nausea, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, in addition to other ailments.

How often can I use CBD topically?
It varies depending on the strength, but we recommend starting with a small amount two times per day and increasing if necessary.

How should CBD products be stored?
It is not necessary to store CBD products in the refrigerator- but it is recommended to keep inside in room temperature and away from bright lights.

What is the Entourage Effect?
Many consumers believe that cannabinoids such as THC and CBD, along with the hundreds of other compounds and the terpenes, are meant to work together. It’s the whole plant that does the best job, not just a single compound.

Can I drink alcohol with CBD?
Many individuals drink alcohol while taking CBD with no issues. However, consuming alcohol and CBD together could amplify effects, potentially causing symptoms like increased sleepiness and sedation.

Is CBD the only cannabinoid in the Hemp Plant?
No, CBD is one of many cannabinoids within the hemp plant, but is currently the most popular cannabinoid being researched for its wellness benefits.

DELTA - 8

What is Delta-8?
According to the National Cancer Institute, Delta-8-THC can be defined as:
“An analogue of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) with antiemetic, anxiolytic, appetite-stimulating, analgesic, and neuroprotective properties. [Delta-8-THC] binds to the cannabinoid G-protein coupled receptor CB1, located in the central nervous system…This agent exhibits a lower psychotropic potency than [delta-9-THC], the primary form of THC found in cannabis.”

How is Delta-8 produced?
The cannabis plant is essentially a factory for dozens of different compounds called cannabinoids. The two most popular are also the most abundant: Delta-9-THC and CBD.  But the plant also makes many other so-called minor cannabinoids, including CBG, CBN, THCV and, of course, Delta-8-THC. Most cannabis plants produce very small levels of Delta-8, so to get a usable amount takes a lot of processing and refinement.

Will Delta-8 make me feel "high"?
Delta-8 can be psychoactive for some consumers, just less so than delta-9. It is still euphoric and stimulates appetite and can energize or relax the consumer depending on the larger terpene and cannabinoid profile, similar to delta-9. And yes, it can induce some of the typical heady, psychoactive experience.

DELTA 9 THC

What is Delta-9?

Delta 9 THC is a major cannabinoid that can be found in cannabis. Extraction of THC is usually fairly cheap and simple - it traditionally is derived from marijuana plants, however recent technology has allowed for Delta 9 to be extracted from the Hemp plant, resulting in the recent federal legalization of the use of Delta 9 when it is specifically derived from Hemp.

How is Delta-9 produced?

There is currently no record to tell when, how, or who discovered THC. THC is formed from the THCA compound after being exposed to heat, light, and time - THC undergoes the chemical reaction known as decarbonization, just like other cannabinoids. Chemically, Delta 9  gets its name from the location of a carbon double-bond. Isomers of Delta 9, like Delta 8 and Delta 10 THC, have this double bond , but in a different location.

How is Delta 9 different than Delta 8?

Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC have pretty much identical chemical formulas, however, they differ by the location of a carbon double-bond. This difference manifests as a large difference in potency, making Delta 8 THC about 50% weaker than Delta THC.

DELTA - 10

What is Delta 10?

Delta 10 THC is an isomer of THC that only occurs naturally in minuscule amounts -Delta 10 is about 50% as strong in terms of the psychoactive effects but has a greater energizing or stimulating action. It’s most popular among people who like to use THC products that help them focus rather than relax.

How is Delta 10 produced?

Delta 10 is produced typically through extraction or converted from Delta-9 through isomerization. Transforming the substance is possible because they have the same chemical compounds, just different structures.

What are the effects of Delta 10?

Delta 10 THC has been known to provide an uplifting and relaxing effect that doesn't cause intense emotions of paranoia or anxiety. Delta 10 THC is popular among users for its mild energizing effects and its ability to relieve stress and help you feel relaxed.

THC-V

What is THC-V?

Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THCV, is a psychoactive cannabinoid found most prevalently in Sativa strains of cannabis. It is known to produce a more motivated, alert and energizing feeling of euphoria.

What are the effects of THC-V?

THCV relieves stress and research shows it can help to reduce or even prevent anxiety and panic attacks. For this reason, it plays an important role in the treatment of post-traumatic-stress-disorder (PTSD). It is also neuroprotective, so it is ideal for treating conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.

HHC

What is HHC?

Hexahydrocannabinol, or HHC, is a hydrogenated form of THC.HHC occurs naturally in hemp but only in trace concentrations. To obtain a usable amount, a sophisticated process is performed to saturate THC with hydrogen atoms in the presence of high pressure and a catalyst like nickel or palladium.

What are the effects of HHC?

HHC’s effects are very similar to those of THC, such as feelings of euphoria, increased heart rate, and body temperature, as well as altered visual and auditory perceptions.

Will I still test positive on a drug test if I use HHC?

No. One key selling point made by HHC users is that a standard 12-panel drug test won’t detect it. This is attractive to many people since other THC alternatives, like Delta 8 and Delta 10, will show up on urine or blood tests for THC if consumed in sufficient amounts.

CBG (CANNABIGEROL)

What is CBG?
CBG is Cannabigerol, a non-psychoactive cannabinoid typically most abundant in low-THC and high-CBD cannabis strains including hemp. Like CBD, CBG reacts with the cannabinoid receptors in the brain…CBG works to fight inflammation, pain, nausea and works to slow the proliferation of cancer cells. Many people are excited about the studies being done with regard to CBD and CBG and cancer.

What is CBG good for?
CBG displays a multitude of potential health benefits including working as a neuroprotectant, having antioxidant properties, aiding with skin ailments as an antibacterial and antifungal agent, appetite stimulation, treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, inflammation reduction, and shows promise in fighting cancer.
